An extra night of Haunted Forest is set for 2021 ... and it is for the younger, but still really brave, humans.
Each year around mid-October, we field dozens of calls and emails from local parents with the same questions: Is the Haunted Forest that scary? Will it be too scary for my child? While we can't pretend to know you or your kid's tolerance for nightmarish spooks, we do know that we make an age recommendation of kids ages 10+ for our Friday and Saturday night scares. But, what about the brave kids who want to go in but you're not ready to chance an evening of nightmare wakeups?
New this year, Haunted Forest Jr.! We're opening up the gates of the Haunted Forest a night early—on October 21—during the dusk and twilight hours from 5-7 p.m. Brave kids and their favorite grownups will walk the three-quarter-mile trail through a dry creek bed in the woods. Though there will be no live scarers, monsters, demons, or ghosts in the Haunted Forest, you must heed our warning that the decor is still quite scary.
Before you enter the woods, or after you return, make sure to stop in our community area. Your little ghouls can enjoy hot cocoa, face-painting, and a Halloween movie from the comfort of our haybale theater. All proceeds from Haunted Forest Jr. and Haunted Forest directly benefit the mission of the Backcountry Conservation & Education Fund.
Tickets: $5 for each participant 15 and under. Parents do not need a ticket. There are only 50 per half hour, so don't delay!
Feeling a little more courageous? Join us for the full Haunted Forest experience on October 22 and 23 from 6:30-10 p.m. Tickets are sold in half-hour windows. No tickets will be sold on-site if the timeslots sell out.
