Meet local business owners who directly support local wildlife habitat conservation, environmental education, and responsible recreation in the Backcountry Wilderness Area.
When you look around Highlands Ranch, it's easy to notice all of the homes and development built snuggly together. While from the outside it may look like quintessential
suburbia, the developers of our community had wild spaces in mind. The closely-spaced homes allowed for a large, contiguous piece of wildlife habitat to remain whole. That land is now known as the Backcountry Wilderness Area.
Dan DeBacco—a Highlands Ranch resident and HRCA Board Director—is a real estate agent in our community who does business by the Golden Rule (Do onto others as you would have them do unto you). DeBacco Real Estate works to earn your trust and business by working to make the community better as a whole. As a Backcountry Backer corporate sponsor and sponsor of the Backcountry Outdoor Movie Series, Dan makes providing outdoor opportunities and preserving the pristine habitat for the next generation a priority ... including his young family.
The Backcountry Wilderness Area is home to many wildlife species that would have been forced to find other habitats if our 13-square-mile property wasn't managed in a way that allows conservation, environmental education, and recreation to be responsibly balanced. Dan and the team at DeBacco Real Estate are in the same business of ensuring that you and your loved ones are in a home that suits your needs!
Dan filled us in on why his business is more than selling home and when his love for the outdoors sprouted.
What is your business?
My wife and I are real estate professionals for Highlands Ranch and the Denver Metro area. We specialize in life transitions, investment properties, and rehab projects.
What does your business do for our community?
A home is an integral root for the entire growth of a community. We value finding the right home for all individuals and families to feel a part of their community, all while giving back both monetarily and with time.
Why do you love what you do?
We get to help people every day, all while planning events, giving back, and leaving our community a better place.
What is your favorite thing to do outside?
We love to be on the water, especially boating on one of the many beautiful lakes/reservoirs in our beautiful state!
Why do you choose to Back the Backcountry through a sponsorship of the Backcountry Conservation & Education Fund? We have become a heavily populated area, and its become congested with urban terrain. My wife and I grew up in the outdoors, and we feel it's incredibly important to sustain a piece of our wilderness for our children to learn from and continue to maintain.
